A great day on the river!

Well done to the five hardy souls (Chris, Olly, Peter M, Phil M, Rhiannon) who joined Steve to brave our first white-water trip of the season, on the Usk from Aberbran to Brynich today. Great paddling and fun for all, with plenty of practice breaking-in and -out of eddies, surfing waves and bouncing down a variety of Grade 2 rapids. Only one inadvertent swim – and that was due to an overhanging tree in the flow that we couldn’t avoid, so doesn’t really count!

Roll-on the next trip on 14 Nov when our hope is to paddle from Newbridge-on-Wye to Builth Wells, a gentle Grade 1/2 trip with a nice juicy rapid right at the end (this one’s already booked-up, but do let Steve know if you’re interested in case he’s able to increase numbers…).
