One of our members is looking for ‘guinea-pigs’ who’d like to join her for a day’s paddling on sheltered water on Sat 11 Oct while Steve assesses her for the Paddlesport Leader award. Candidates need to be sufficiently competent to paddle on a slow-moving river and/or a windy lake – but not so competent that they don’t need leading and looking after in those environments! We’re looking for up to 6 people, at least one must be in kayak; one on paddleboard and one in canoe – and you will need to be willing to take part in some rescues (i.e. get wet!). Preferably over 18s but could consider teenagers at a push. Ideally we’ll be on both river and lake but that will depend on conditions. Please e-mail steve.rayner@brynbolgoed.co.uk if you’re interested!
