Our polo team was back in action on Sunday 28 Jan, looking to improve on the results of the previous outing! This time the surroundings were more like home with a similar sized pool to Brecon, a relief to those who had played at Cheltenham. The first game, against Swansea Uni, settled the nerves and the team (Chris, Huw, Jack and Natalie; subs Steve and Mel) gave a good performance against the only team to win against the Rhondda Black Rhinos. The Black Rhinos tested our defence, whereas the White Rhinos tested our speed. Croesy underestimated Brecon, and with a little luck, gave the team their first (and only) win! The last match was against Swansea CC and our team put in a good effort pulling on all their strength and stamina.
We came away with smiles and points on the board and more confidence for the next tournament in March. Well played all!
Thanks, Mel, for the above report. Steve is a bit behind on writing the reports for our recent white water trips, watch this space 😉
