Thanks to those of you who responded to last week’s plea: we do now have a few more people interested in several of our events BUT still need more to be sure that they all run – so if you’re interested in any of them (even if not 100% sure right now), please let us know NOW so we can decide which of them to go ahead with. Pool sessions in Brecon Leisure Centre Monday 7-9pm starting 3 Sep (dates for 2 types of session still tbc):
- General training, focused on ‘wet skills’ including water confidence rescues and rolling (Edith, Finn, Huw, Lee, Paul, Rhys)
- Canoe polo training, for existing polo players and anyone who’d like to ‘have go’ at ‘5-a-side-rugby in boats’ (!), aged 11+, able to manoeuvre a kayak, and confident to capsize (Dave, Edith, Huw, Mike [dates tbc], Natalie, Pete [dates tbc], Sam C, Sam Ha, Steve R)
Weekend Trips:
- Sun 20 Aug 2023 Club Trip: we can now confirm that this will be a canal trip aimed at our newer paddlers, but open to everyone, details will be sent separately during the week to all those who’ve expressed interest (Finn, Gethyn, Rhys, Simon, Steve R)
- Sat 9-Sun 10 Sep 2023 N Wales White Water Weekend (subject to river conditions), for our experienced paddlers (Dave, Pete, Simon, Steve R)
- Sun 1 Oct River Trip (date now confirmed – instead of 23 Sep) somewhere on the Wye, for all our paddlers (Rhys, Sam C, Simon, Steve R)
- Sun 8 Oct and every 2nd Sunday until March – ‘Harder’ White Water Trips for our more experienced paddlers (8 Oct: Andy, Huw, [Pete tbc], [Phil M tbc], Rhiannon, Sam C, Steve R)
- Sun 22 Oct and every 4th Sunday until March – ‘Easier’ White Water Trips for developing paddlers (22 Oct: Huw, Lee, [Pete tbc], [Phil M tbc], Sam C, Steve R)
