A good cohort of club paddlers turned out yesterday for some skills development and practise on the grade 2 rapids at Symonds Yat. The water level was almost perfect (could have maybe done with being a little slower!), the water wasn’t cold and the sun was shining – what more could we ask for?! We split into a couple of groups, coached separately by Steve and Simon; and it was great to see everyone’s confidence and skills develop throughout the day. Fleur, Logan and Stef all had their first white water rolls (without a paddle, in Logan’s case) – well done – and there were a few swims: some deliberate (practising our self-rescue skills) and some accidental! Next step: Cardiff White Water on 12 Oct?!
