We do have a couple of spaces on next Sunday’s training / trip – if you’re interested, please drop us an e-mail (currently expected: Dave, Edith, Nairi, Olly, Peter, Phil H, Sam, Steve).
It’s too soon to call whether we’ll be able to go ahead with white water safety & rescue training. The temperature doesn’t look as if it’ll be too cold for swimming (a brisk 6-7deg!), but we’ll need to wait until mid-week to know this more accurately and to get a sense of river levels. If we do go ahead with the training, it could either be on the Usk at Llangynidr (a long carry with boats!) or on the Wye at Builth Wells (a longer drive but less carrying!), depending on which has the better water level. The training will involve quite a bit of swimming, so you’ll need at least a good wetsuit and ideally dry-suit / cag & trousers (we might be able to lend one or two items if needed – let Steve know if you think you might need these).
If we decide against the training we’ll run a trip instead, again to be decided nearer the time when we have a better idea of river levels…
