Following the success of last Sunday’s ‘winter warm-up’ trip on the Wye from Hay to Whitney – with a record 18 paddlers! – we are now looking forward to the start of the white water season.
Bookings are now open for Sun 27 Oct 2024 ‘Easier’ White Water Trip (click on the link to book places). Numbers will be strictly limited for this trip, depending on how many leaders are available: at present there are 8 spaces and 5 of these have already been taken by Jane, Huw, Gethyn, Lee and Martin – so get in quick!! If the website says we’re ‘sold out’, feel free to drop Steve an e-mail to be added to the reserve list.
NB priority for these ‘easier’ trips will be given to our newer paddlers – more experienced paddlers might wish to check out Sun 10 Nov 2024 ‘Harder’ White Water Trip!
The venue will depend on water conditions and participants but is likely to be either:
- Usk Brecon to Brynich – a short stretch of grade 1-2 water, returning on the canal (it’s possible we could do this twice in the day, with separate groups, if there was enough demand); or
- Wye Newbridge to Builth Wells – a longer stretch of mostly grade 1 with simple rapids (and a grade 3 rapid at the end which can be portaged – walked around!); or
- Usk Aberbran to Brecon – a great stretch of grade 2 water
Final details will be confirmed next week to those who’ve booked places.
