Last call for Mon 1 Jun training session (with ‘Paddle Safer’ focus for those who wish)

The forecast for Monday doesn’t look too promising – but since it looks like we’ll all be getting wet anyway (heavy rain!), we’ll go ahead with our planned ‘Paddle Safer’ course for our ‘new’ paddlers (and anyone else who wants to join in). This starts with a bit of ‘theory’ (we’ll cram into the kit store to stay dry) then covers some practical skills for helping yourself and others ‘when things go wrong’ (this will involve some swimming!!). ‘Paddle Safer’is a certificated course (see Paddle Safer | Find Out More) so there is a fee of £10 for this (included in the ‘Learn to Paddle’ course) – although anyone who wants to join in and practise rescues alongside the course is very welcome. There are also some resources associated with the course on our website at Go Paddling! – Brecon Canoe Club.

Or just come along for a social paddle!

We’ll be sticking with kayaks this week just to keep things simple (or feel free to bring you own canoe or SUP!).

Tickets as usual at Mon 1 Jun 2026 Summer Training – including ‘Learn to Paddle’ Course, ‘Paddle Safer’ course, Social Paddle, Polo Skills & Personal Coaching – or drop Steve an e-mail if you have any questions (simply replying to newsletter e-mails will get through to him!).
