Our last ‘flat water’ trip of the year saw an impressive turnout of 8 kayakers, 2 canoeists and 2 SUPers tackle the 5-mile section of the Wye from Hay to Whitney, at a level somewhat higher than the usual ‘summer’ levels – meaning we completed the trip in record time, despite a long lunch break – and still had time for a bevvy in the Boat Inn before heading home! Asher, Lily and Sarah coped admirably with the conditions on their first river trip with the club, as did Dave M joining us in a canoe for his first club trip. Roll on next summer (or the winter for the white-water enthusiasts among us!)…
