‘Harder’ white water on the Usk 10 Dec

For what turned out to be our last trip of 2023, we re-visited the Talybont to Llangyndir section of the Usk for some more bouncy fun – including a couple of runs down (Buckland) Mill Falls to perfect our eddy-hopping skills: everyone achieved the goals they set themselves and those who’d been on the last trip had all improved! Because everyone was trying hard – with excellent guidance again from Simon – we did have some accidental capsizes, resulting in the final end of year statistics below.

Our next ‘harder’ trip will be on Sun 14 Jan; and our next ‘easier’ trip will be on 21 Jan when we’ll attempt the Usk between Sennybridge and Aberbran if conditions allow (since we weren’t able to do this on 24 Dec) – possibly including part 3 of the Introduction to White Water Safety course (subject to confirmation by Canoe Wales).
