Sun 12 Jul 2026 River Trip, AGM & BBQ

A trip for all our paddlers on the Wye from Glasbury to Hay (subject to conditions and numbers). Logistics to be confirmed by e-mail to those booking places, timing expected to be 9.30am to 3pm. Unaccompanied children welcome, lifts may be available from Brecon area if needed. Please e-mail Steve if you have questions or want to check suitability – and/or book places in the usual way via the online event tickets.

Craft hire (kayak, canoe or paddleboard) available as usual.

To be followed at 3.30pm, at Glasbury Scout Hut, by our Annual General Meeting (AGM), Annual Awards Ceremony and BBQ

At the AGM we’ll be conducting the necessary formalities (presentation of accounts etc. – see agenda below) and…

• outlining the Club’s activities and plans for the coming year;
• answering any questions and listening to any suggestions you might have about the Club and its activities; and
• presenting our Annual Awards including the prestigious ‘Paddler of the Year’ trophy.

The BBQ will follow straight after the AGM and last until we’ve all had enough! This will be our first in-person social gathering for a while, so we hope as many of you will come along as possible to share time, conversation, food and maybe even some games with fellow members – and your families. We’ll provide the BBQ itself – and access to kitchen including plates, cutlery, cups/mugs – but please bring your own food to cook on the BBQ, drinks (other than tea, coffee and squash which we’ll provide) and perhaps a few accompaniments to share (e.g. bread, salad, sauces, etc.).
