Sat 18-Sun 19 May 2024 British Canoeing Awarding Body Paddlesport Instructor Course

This is a commercial course being run by Steve, discounted places may be available to BCC members, depending on numbers. More details from Steve or via his website (‘more info’ button below).

The perfect course for anyone aged 14 or over wanting to take their first steps into leading or coaching sessions in kayaks, canoes or SUPs!

Participants need to:

1. be Full Members of Canoe Wales / British Canoeing (etc.);
2. register for the Award with Canoe Wales / British Canoeing (etc.) – cost £46.80;
3. have attended a British Canoeing Awarding Body Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Training course at least 2 weeks beforehand – such as the one running on 23 Mar; and
4. have personal paddling (equivalent to the former 2*-level) and rescue competence in one type of craft (kayak, open canoe, sit on top, or stand up paddleboard).

The course will take place on the River Usk at Brecon Promenade and / or the canal in Brecon, or another local venue (depending on water conditions).
