Coronavirus and Canoe Club

Although the situation is changing rapidly, as things stand we are not intending to cancel any Canoe Club sessions, based on guidance that the health and wellbeing benefits of keeping active significantly outweigh any risk (unless you are advised otherwise by a health professional) – and chlorinated water will help to kill the virus! We will therefore be going ahead with our remaining pool sessions as long as the Leisure Centre remains open and our coaches remain healthy. However:

  • Please do not come along if you have any symptoms of coronavirus or are in one of the vulnerable groups identified by the Government;
  • Please wash your hands on arrival at and departure from the Leisure Centre;
  • Please try to keep 2m distance from other people in the Changing Rooms; and
  • We will organise the sessions to minimise direct contact between paddlers.

We intend also to go ahead with our summer training sessions at Brecon Promenade after Easter and will provide more detail on these in due course – in the meantime, don’t forget to complete our short questionnaire to tell us what you’d like from these sessions.

We hope to see many of you at the Pool on Monday…
