Following a break of several years, we were delighted to be able to field a youth team in the first Welsh 4s canoe polo tournament of the season at Rhondda Sports Centre on Sun 21 Sep. The Brecon Bats under 18 team did us proud, winning their first game comfortably against Croesyceiliog; holding their own (and winning by a small margin) against Rhondda 1; and putting on a valiant defence against the onslaught of Swansea Blacks (at least scoring 2 goals despite losing the game!). Well done to players Fleur, Gethyn, Harrison, Jonny, Logan and Matthew who were playing competitively together for their first time (and for some of them only their fourth time in a polo boat!). We’re now looking forward to and preparing for the next fixtures in the league.
