Last Sunday saw four intrepid club paddlers setting out to sea at Newport (Pembrokeshire) for a return trip to Dinas Head – starting at low tide and finishing close to high tide. Unfortunately, Ellie had to retire early due to a recent shoulder injury – which did however mean she was able to take some great clifftop photos for us! The weather was gorgeous and the sea almost glassy-flat – great conditions for Sam’s first sea kayaking trip, Steve’s first for a year, and Simon’s first time leading a trip for the Club. We saw seabirds galore and a solitary seal; explored several sea caves; and covered 12km+ in around 4 hours.
