DESCRIPTION:For this year’s “Christmas Paddle” we thought we’d try something different – a torchlit evening paddle on the canal (with some mince pies etc.) alongside the ‘light up the canal’ procession celebrating the canal’s 225th anniversary! All abilities welcome; do let us know if you’d like to join us\, by getting a ticket in the usual way – free if you have your own boat; or £5 for boat hire (we can have canoes available as well as kayaks). SUMMARY:Sun 14 Dec 2025 'Easier' White Water Trip
DESCRIPTION:This trip is again aimed at anyone new to white water – as well as more experienced paddlers; and will include some skills coaching. You need at least to be capable of paddling in a straight line for 5 miles and have the stamina and clothing for cold weather paddling (unaccompanied under 18s welcome). Numbers will be strictly limited and priority given to our developing (rather than expert) paddlers; otherwise first come\, first served! The trip will most likely be on the Usk from Sennybridge to Aberbran; or another stretch of the Usk or Wye depending on conditions and participants. Timing will be 9am to 3pm\, with a packed lunch. Club equipment will be available to hire as usual. Get tickets in the usual way (or e-mail Steve to enquire\, even if tickets are sold out…).
