DESCRIPTION:***Scroll down for booking process and tickets*** \n\n\n\nOur next block of general training sessions will start on Mon 8 Nov and will run on the following weeks – please note this is not a fixed pattern of consecutive or alternate weeks\, because polo training will take place in the intervening weeks\, to fit in with scheduled tournament dates: \n\n\n\n\n8 Jan\, 29 Jan\, 5 Feb\, 19 Feb\, 18 Mar\n\n\n\n\nSessions will run from 7.15 to 9pm\, including a 15min ‘buffer’ at the start and finish to get equipment in and out of the pool (i.e. an hour-and-a-quarter actually in the pool). \n\n\n\nWe’re currently expecting the following paddlers (those in Bold have paid!) and do have space for a few more: \n\n\n\n\nYouth Development (led by Sam C): TBC\n\n\n\n‘Intensive’ coaching and individual practise (esp. for those who need to develop their skills with rolling and support strokes or to develop their confidence with capsizing; led by Dave\, Simon & Steve R\, supported by Tanya & Sam H): Adam\, Anne\, Fleur\, Jack\, Laura\, Lee\, Mark T (not 8th)\, Mel (not 8th)\, Natalie (dates TBC)\, Sarah (not 8th)\n\n\n\nIndependent practice: Mike B\n\n\n\n\nThe cost of each session will be £13 but we are able to offer a discounted rate of £50 if you ‘block-book’ all 5 sessions in advance (no refunds for missed sessions) – and all paddlers will need to be paid-up members of the Club and of Canoe Wales (and signed-up to our NEW Club Code of Conduct). Priority spaces will be given to block-bookings. NB this discounted rate will make it difficult for us to cover our costs\, so we will also offer the option of paying the ‘full’ price even for block-booked sessions\, for those that feel able to contribute a little extra… \n\n\n\nArrival & Changing\n\n\n\n\nPlease arrive in time to be changed and ready to enter poolside for 7.15pm.\n\n\n\nPlease wear T-shirts as well as swimwear (for warmth as well as modesty!).\n\n\n\nMake your way straight to the changing rooms – there is no need to check-in at reception.\n\n\n\nPlease wait at the changing room exits before going poolside – we’ll need to be given the ‘all-clear’ that the previous group has left before we enter.\n\n\n\nFeel free to bring your own boats & paddles – as long as they’re clean. Deposit them by the external doors in the car park before the start of the session.\n\n\n\n\nOn Poolside\n\n\n\n\nParents are welcome on poolside to help children carry boats and get kitted-up\, also to help them empty boats if required during the session (we’ll show you how!). You might even be able to help in the water\, if this is something you’d be willing to do – in which case\, come prepared with swimwear!\n\n\n\nNo outdoor shoes on poolside please.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking Process\n\n\n\nTo confirm places\, please use the ‘get tickets’ button at the bottom of the events listing: \n\n\n\n\nYou will be asked to login to your membership account on our website. SUMMARY:Sun 14 Jan 2024 'Harder' White Water Trip
DESCRIPTION:The aim is for these ‘harder’ trips to be on a variety of grade 3-4 rivers – suitable only for experienced white-water paddlers who are comfortable on grade 2(3)\, preferably able to roll\, and ready to move up to something ‘harder’ – although we will not be able to confirm locations (or max group size) until a few days beforehand\, when we have an idea of expected water levels. \n\n\n\nAt this stage we’re booking only ‘expressions of interest’ and will offer places on a first-come\, first-served basis (subject to your suitability for the finalised trip).
