Originally billed as a ‘harder’ trip\, this one is for anyone who’s previously paddled white water (preferably with Simon; including the recent day at Symonds Yat; under 18s only if accompanied by a paddling parent). It’s likely to be somewhere ‘moderate’ on the Usk\, depending on conditions and participants. Numbers will be limited; and if you wish to use a club boat you’ll need to make arrangements to collect and transport it and any other club kit yourself (e.g. from the pool on the 20th) – contact Steve ASAP for this. DESCRIPTION:Our next block of Canoe Polo training sessions will start on Mon 3 Nov and will run on alternate weeks: 3\, 17 Nov\, 1\, 15 Dec. \n\n\n\nSessions will run from 7.15 to 9pm\, including a 15min ‘buffer’ at the start and finish to get equipment in and out of the pool (i.e. an hour-and-a-quarter actually in the pool). \n\n\n\nWe’re currently expecting the following players but do have space for one or two more\, so please ‘get tickets’ ASAP if you’re able to come (new players please check with us first!) – NB those in bold have already paid: \n\n\n\n\nDave\, Fleur\, Gethyn\, Glyn\, Harrison\, Huw\, Jack\, Jodine\, Jonny\, Logan\, Matthew\, Mel\, Mike\, Nat\, Pat\, Sam\, Stef\, Steve\n\n\n\n\nThe cost of each session will be £15 but we are able to offer a discounted rate of £50 if you ‘block-book’ all 4 sessions in advance (no refunds for missed sessions) – and all existing paddlers will need to be paid-up members of the Club and of Paddle Cymru (and signed-up to our Club Code of Conduct). DESCRIPTION:This trip is aimed at anyone new to white water – as well as more experienced paddlers; and will include some skills coaching. You need at least to be capable of paddling in a straight line for 5 miles and have the stamina and clothing for cold weather paddling (unaccompanied under 18s welcome). Numbers will be strictly limited and priority given to our developing (rather than expert) paddlers; otherwise first come\, first served! The trip will most likely be on the Usk from Aberbran to Brecon; or another stretch of the Usk or Wye depending on conditions and participants. Timing will be 9am to 3pm\, with a packed lunch.
