SUMMARY:Mon 4 Nov 2024 Pool Session (General Training) - including Learn to Kayak course
DESCRIPTION:Our next block of general training sessions will start on Mon 4 Nov and will run on alternate weeks – please ‘get tickets’ using the button on the website linking (or e-mail Steve for advice!): \n\n\n\n\n4\, 18 Nov\, 2\, 16 Dec (NB our ‘Learn to Kayak’ course will run for the first 3 weeks although participants are welcome to ‘stay on’ and join us for the fourth session)\n\n\n\n\nSessions will run from 7.15 to 9pm\, including a 15min ‘buffer’ at the start and finish to get equipment in and out of the pool (i.e. an hour-and-a-quarter actually in the pool). \n\n\n\nWe’re currently expecting the following paddlers (those in Bold have paid) and do have space for more: \n\n\n\n\nLearn to Kayak (Youths) – Course 2 (4 Nov-2 Dec): Alex\n\n\n\nLearn to Kayak (Adults) – Course 2: (4 Nov-2 Dec): Ceri\, Yvonne\n\n\n\nPersonalised coaching (esp. for those who need to develop their skills with rolling and support strokes or to develop their confidence with capsizing): Cath\, Clare\, Duncan\, Erin\, Gethyn\, Glyn\, Harrison\, Jodine\, Logan\, Mel\, Patrick\, Wayne\n\n\n\nIndependent practice: Mike\, Tanya (3 dates TBC)\n\n\n\n\nThe cost of each session will be £15 but we are able to offer a discounted rate of £40 if you ‘block-book’ 3 sessions in advance; or £50 for all 4 sessions (no refunds for missed sessions) – and all ‘existing’ paddlers will need to be paid-up members of the Club and of Canoe Wales (and signed-up to our Club Code of Conduct). Priority spaces will be given to block-bookings. NB this discounted rate will make it difficult for us to cover our costs\, so we will also continue to invite optional donations\, for those that feel able to contribute a little extra… \n\n\n\nArrival & Changing\n\n\n\n\nPlease arrive in time to be changed and ready to enter poolside for 7.15pm.\n\n\n\nPlease wear T-shirts as well as swimwear (for warmth as well as modesty!).\n\n\n\nMake your way straight to the changing rooms – there is no need to check-in at reception.\n\n\n\nPlease wait at the changing room exits before going poolside – we’ll need to be given the ‘all-clear’ that the previous group has left before we enter.\n\n\n\nFeel free to bring your own boats & paddles – as long as they’re clean. Deposit them by the external doors in the car park before the start of the session.\n\n\n\n\nOn Poolside\n\n\n\n\nParents are welcome on poolside to help children carry boats and get kitted-up\, also to help them empty boats if required during the session (we’ll show you how!). You might even be able to help in the water\, if this is something you’d be willing to do – in which case\, come prepared with swimwear!\n\n\n\nNo outdoor shoes on poolside please.
