River Trips

It was great to welcome three new members – Chris, Lewis and Peter – joining Ele, Jim and Sam on our river trip from Hay to Whitney today. Great paddling, everyone – we look forward to seeing you all out again on the river soon!

***There will now be an additional trip on Sun 10 Oct 2021 (in place of the planned Canoe Award training course). Probably on the Lower Wye (near Monmouth), this will be a Training Day aimed at completing elements of the Explore Award in kayak or canoe (for those of you who are already working towards this) and working towards the Canoe Award (for anyone ready for this). As this is an award-based training day, there will be a cost for this, probably £20 per person. Enquiries and bookings for this one by e-mail to Steve, please (so we can confirm suitability and detailed arrangements).

Please remember also to sign-up soon for the following trips – numbers are limited and interest is growing! These are designed to be progressive trips to develop skills on white water – so if you’re a white-water novice, the early ones are the most important to get on!!

  • Sun 24 Oct 2021 trip on a local Grade 2 white water river, e.g. the section of the Usk between Aberbran & Brecon
  • Sun 14 Nov 2021 trip on a local Grade 1-2 white water river, e.g. the section of the Wye between Newbridge & Builth Wells
  • Sun 28 Nov 2021 trip on a local Grade 2(3) white water river, e.g. a section of the Usk between Trecastle and Brecon
  • Sun 12 Dec 2021 trip on a local Grade 2(3) white water river, e.g. a section of the Wye between Builth Wells & Boughrood

To book places on any of these trips, please visit the online events list and use the RSVP button for each individual event – or reply by e-mail to Steve.
