A dramatic question, perhaps! But the Club has been running on a knife-edge for the last couple of years, relying on Steve putting in many hours of both coaching and administration; just-about-making-ends-meet financially; and more recently suffering the effects of Covid – so its future survival is by no means certain!
If you value what the Club does, there are a couple of ways in which you could help:
- Consider joining the Club’s management committee: we desperately need one or two new members (preferably active paddlers) who can help us make the decisions that affect how we operate – the role doesn’t need to be onerous, as a minimum it involves e-mail correspondence and occasional meetings (though there could be more for anyone willing to take on specific responsibilities!) – as well as fulfilling a legal role as Charity Trustees – reply to this e-mail if you’d like to know more!
- Join our online AGM on 11 January, where you can learn more about the Club, provide us with feedback and have your questions answered – RSVP on the event listing.
